Stanza – books on your iPhone

July 23, 2008

Stanza, from LexCycle, is a reader/converter for Mac for a wide range of text file types, including PDFs, rtfs, and even MobiPocket files. It is a free download (it’s still in beta, final version will most likely be $ 15)  with an accompanying free application for iPhone.

I’ve tried it a bit, and it seems to do the job. I have a bunch of ebooks in MobiPocket format from Baen Books (you can start with the Free Library), and I’ve been reading them on my Palm T3. It works fine, but it’s another device to drag around. Once I have a chance to try some more I’ll report back about it. If you have a bunch of ebooks, check it out – it converts a wide range of files.
