The launch of the Jazz Education Network

June 18, 2008

The folks at Music For All have helped get the word out that the Jazz Education Network has been launched by folks from jazz education and the music industry. Obviously it is intended to fill the void left by the demise of IAJE. Mary Jo Papich, who was to become IAJE President this summer, has been elected president by the temporary board.

I’ve already contacted Mary Jo to volunteer my help in getting this organization started. I’ve known her for years, from her work in IAJE and IMEA in Illinois. I hope this group can get a viable organization started.
